It is no secret that Donald Trump isn’t – pardon the cliché – the brightest bulb in the box. Recent revelations, however, point to just how ignorant this man is and how he should just keep his mouth shut. The problem with someone like Trump, though, is that he not only doesn’t know just how dumb he is, but he actually thinks he’s smart. Bless his heart. Money doesn’t buy happiness, and it certainly doesn’t buy brains. As if the “windmills cause cancer” fiasco wasn’t enough, we are now learning that he thought we could stop hurricanes by blasting them out of the sky. This is right up there with Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Jewish space lasers.

Trump thought it a good idea to drop bombs on hurricanes to stop them from entering the U.S. Axios reported that he suggested this “multiple times.” An anonymous source told Axios that during a meeting, Trump suggested: “We drop a bomb inside the eye of the hurricane, and it disrupts it. Why can’t we do that?” Trump, of course, denies saying such a crazy thing, leaning on his favorite “fake news” claim. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said that doing this would “cause devastating environmental problems.” That means that even as Trump denies saying it, he did. Why else would that organization even address such lunacy? As if the idea of nuking hurricanes wasn’t bad enough, Huffington Post reported that Trump repeatedly asked national security whether China had secret technology or weapons to create hurricanes and send them to the U.S. What? That man was doing more than snorting Adderall. He has some sort of brain problem that allows him to reach into it and produce fantastical solutions to problems. To think this man had his finger on the red button is frightening. Anyone who thinks like Trump does not need to be near anything important, let alone running the United States government.

Rolling Stone first broke the story of Trump asking about China engaging in an act of war and whether the U.S. could retaliate. Oh, boy. The man is hopelessly stupid. One former White House official spoke with Rolling Stone and said: “It was almost too stupid for words. I did not get the sense he was joking at all.” “Joking” is always Trump’s go-to when he says stupid things, but let’s face it: mostly everything he said was stupid (and still is). No one can be joking that much. He said it, and he seriously meant it. Surely, no one has forgotten about “Sharpiegate,” when Trump redrew the trajectory of Hurricane Dorian to show it hitting Alabama, which was a feeble attempt to justify his tweet that Alabama was in the storm’s path.

Look, if you don’t know something, just be quiet about it. It is of no use to make up outlandish stories to try to justify your ignorance. But Trump is the epitome of ignorance, and this was his sole way of trying to hide it, emphasis on “trying.”
