“Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right.” As we start the year 2023, let us take a look at the GOP and how they stand today. Buckle up. This will be a portrait – a portrait of the loud, the garish, and the gaudy. Marjorie Taylor Greene is now hated by many for daring to back Kevin McCarthy. People online — mostly angry Maga — are calling her a swamp creature.

Pillow connoisseur Mike Lindell spoke out against her, calling the actions of the screaming Georgian disappointing. “She broke her promise,” Lindell whined, referring to Greene’s support of McCarthy. Matt Gaetz is loathed even more than he already was. One does wonder how he and Rep. Mike Rogers — the infamous lunge specialist will be able to coexist after THAT little drama.

Then we have Kevin McCarthy, who has the eyes of many a pissed-off republican on him, just waiting for Kevin to screw up somehow so a motion to vacant the chair can be announced. We have the moderate Republicans. I call them that, though in reality, the “moderates” are as crazy as all the other Republicans. They’re just a bit LESS crazy.

The House rules still have to be voted on, and THAT promises to be quite a spectacle as we really have no idea if all republicans will vote for it. So the question remains what if the GOP can’t get the rules package passed? After Kevin made all those promises? That will definitely come with some drama.

Boebert and Greene, once best friends, have been at each other’s throats. George Santos has been sworn in and faces multiple investigations, as well as the fury of his constituents back home in New York.

And let’s not forget the Senate. Mitch McConnell is at his least popular moment ever. Many Republican Senators are infuriated with him for supporting the spending bill and for an appearance he made with President Biden. This is today’s Republican Party. There are Republican clowns to the left and jokers to the right, and the American people — for now — are stuck with them.
